Greetings, friends!
Keir Starmer and Financial Difficulties in the UK
A new day and new important events deserving of your attention. Just 2 days ago, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer made a statement to his people, warning of worsening conditions in the country due to financial problems. He declared that tough times are ahead and urged everyone to tighten their belts. Starmer also announced painful budget decisions for the coming year, hinting at possible tax increases. In general, he “dressed up” the British in full.
Starmer’s Assistant on Ibiza
However, Starmer’s assistant, Deputy Prime Minister of the UK, Rachel Reiner, was spotted on video at a popular resort in Ibiza, enjoying herself at parties. Other partygoers cheered her on, saying it was so tough that she had to “transfer the heavy burden” to Ibiza. In general, the public is being “scratched” thoroughly, as has been the case before. It’s worth noting that this is not only happening in Britain but in other countries as well.
Impeachment of Macron in France
There is also important news from France: deputies from the far-left party “France Unbowed” have prepared a resolution for the impeachment of President Emmanuel Macron. He is accused of power usurpation due to his refusal to appoint a candidate from the left-wing bloc, Lucie Kost, as Prime Minister. Macron is also accused of refusing to comply with the will of the people. The impeachment process against the French president has been initiated by the far-left.
Wildfire in Germany
In Germany, the wildfire near Jüterbog, which I mentioned earlier, continues to spread. The cause of the fire remains unknown. It’s worth noting that a similar fire occurred at the same location last year. The Federal Agency for Civil Protection strongly advises residents of the area to keep their windows and doors closed. The German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who belongs to the Green party, arrived at the scene to give her assessment and final conclusion. She stated that the conditions for extinguishing the fire are also a matter of national security for Germany and that more money is needed for safety. Baerbock also mentioned that Germany’s internal security is threatened by extreme flooding, climate change, and wildfires.
Unemployment in Germany
Despite ongoing statements about labor shortages in Germany and the recruitment of people from other countries, the number of unemployed in Germany increased by 63,000 in August compared to the previous month, reaching 2.8 million people. Compared to August 2023, this figure rose by 176,000 people. The labor market continues to experience the effects of economic stagnation. Unemployment and underemployment increased during the summer. The demand for labor in companies is declining, and in August, 699,000 job openings were registered, which is 72,000 fewer than a year ago.
Crimes with Sharp Objects in Germany
The number of crimes involving sharp objects in Germany is increasing almost daily. Unfortunately, there have been more tragic cases. The ban on carrying knives has still not been enacted, despite loud discussions about it. The first deportation occurred a week after the tragic events in Solingen, where three people were killed. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has already labeled the return of 28 Afghan citizens to Afghanistan as a clear sign that foreign offenders will not be spared from deportation. Now, residents in Germany are waiting to see if further deportations of offenders will occur or if it was a one-time measure.
Security Package and Biometric Surveillance
The federal government has prepared a document—a security package—containing new powers for investigative authorities in line with regulations on artificial intelligence and data protection. This includes biometric surveillance and the capture of facial images from the internet. This leads to a grim future where no one will be able to move unnoticed in public places or online.
Expansion of Nuclear Energy in Europe
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called for the expansion of nuclear energy in light of the current global political situation. She stated that for energy independence, it is necessary to develop both renewable sources and nuclear energy. Interestingly, Ursula did not specify whether Germany will return to using nuclear energy. Meanwhile, European Union countries such as France, Hungary, and Poland are actively working on expanding nuclear energy.
Strengthening European Defense
Although NATO remains the cornerstone of collective security in Europe, Ursula von der Leyen has emphasized the need for European countries to increase their defense capabilities. A new position of European Commissioner for Defense will be created in the new European Commission. This will be a serious position with significant financial resources allocated.
Lithium Mining in Serbia
After meeting with Emmanuel Macron in Belgrade, Serbian President Vučić urgently traveled to Prague to meet with Ursula von der Leyen. The main topic will be the discussion of lithium mining, a critical raw material for the transition to a green economy. Brussels is very interested in securing this vital resource, despite protests from ordinary Serbs against mining.
