Greetings, friends! A new day brings new, quite important and interesting messages worthy of your attention. Given that criticism in French media about their own country has understandably been put on hold, France has already found something negative to highlight about Germany. The ruling traffic light coalition government in Germany might not have wanted to discuss this, but today, there is an unpleasant update: the German economy is currently slipping into a crisis. In the second quarter of this year, the activity of Europe’s largest economy declined more sharply than expected. This conclusion was announced by Martin Van Slenna, President of the German Chamber of Commerce. The state of the German economy during the first 6 months of this year is disappointing: industrial production has not resumed, exports have declined, and orders in the manufacturing sector have remained unchanged. This is the expert’s conclusion. However, this does not mean that everything in France is perfect or even excellent. France also has new scandals and even loud outrage, which unfortunately was not resolved, or perhaps it was not desired to resolve.
Data Theft and Investigation
The prosecution of the wonderful and charming French city of Marseille is now actively investigating the theft of two computers that may contain access codes and plans for France’s nuclear power plants. The computers were stolen right from the office, despite serious security measures. The theft was carried out unnoticed. While the Olympic Games are taking place in Paris, secret data about French nuclear facilities were stolen. France is one of the largest producers of nuclear energy in Europe and the world. It also accounts for about 70% of the country’s internal power generation. But now the access codes and facility maps are stolen. Those who did this understand how and for what purposes they can use them. They understand perfectly why they did it. Therefore, the intrigue remains huge. Also, there are no new messages about those who previously committed diversions, thefts, and sent various kinds of letters in France. Everything is gradually but surely heading into a dead end, as was expected.
Scandals and Financial Issues
Despite the fact that the investigations are conducted by the best of the best, the French president is now at the center of a new scandal. Most interestingly, the favorite publication of the European Commission, Politico, has been quite harsh on the French president and revealed that France’s love for grand gestures and luxurious dinners is fully reflected in the pages of the annual audit of the Elysee Palace budget. The Court of Auditors, France’s highest control body, revealed that a lavish dinner for King Charles I of the United Kingdom cost around €475,000 and contributed to a record-high budget deficit at the Elysee Palace in France. In the residence of President Emmanuel Macron, among the main factors of the budget deficit were also lavish state dinners with other people, such as with Indian Prime Minister Modi, and many other expenses. I won’t list all of them; I value your time. Administrative expenses also reached a colossal sum of €125 million, resulting in a negative balance. The conclusion is that President Macron is spending too lavishly. And this has not gone unnoticed, and now outrage is growing like never before.
Olympic Games and Ecology
As for the Olympics: triathletes will have to swim in the dirty water of Paris. And the fact that the water is dirty is not hidden in publications. After several days of discussions and numerous delays, the triathlon of the Olympic Games has started. And already in Germany, it was noted that after the World Championship earlier in Seoul, a well-known athlete repeatedly struggled with stomach problems due to dirty water. After that, she could no longer set records. But such difficulties may arise. This is precisely highlighted for athletes when they swim in the Seine. But we will see what happens next and move on. Can one brazenly violate public order? This is a question many people are asking: can one spray paint someone else’s property and behave quite calmly, knowing in advance that there will be no consequences? And as activists have recently shown, they can do this in Poland and Germany.
Activist Actions and Ecology
Now there is an unpleasant case in Britain. In London, eco-activists entered the largest international airport and started spraying paint on the floor, windows, walls, and monitors. Ordinary people, as usual, were bewildered and stunned. That eco-activists can act so brazenly for a long time, especially when they are openly protected, naturally makes them bolder. Everyone understands this, but ordinary people cannot do anything, and the government is afraid to even say a word against it, showing its lack of independence first and foremost. Activists continue, and as you understand, in a very selective world of impunity: some are allowed to do much. But there is a plan, a global agenda, and it is being advanced. There are problems and what needs to be done for people — to introduce restrictions to reduce emissions. And all this is for our planet.
Environmental Initiatives in Copenhagen
There is also a useful and quite interesting moment to add to the green course. In the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, tourists are offered unusual activities this summer, such as collecting floating trash from the waterways of the Danish capital, riding bicycles to museums instead of driving cars, or being volunteers in the city garden. All these measures are part of a new pilot project that rewards tourists for climate-friendly actions. Tourists can trim flower beds, gather coriander, or clean up areas and then stay for a free lunch as a reward. This is how payment will be — free food, to be precise. If tourists travel by bicycle or public transport to the National Museum instead of using a taxi or rented car, they will receive free ice cream. We will continue to observe the progress of this course and move forward.
Political Scandals and President of Turkey
And again, Turkish President Erdoğan is in the spotlight. After a scandalous statement against Israel, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan decided to react and loudly expressed his indignation with a parody of the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, which, according to many people, took place during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. This parody affected both his feelings and those of all of Turkey, at least he made it clear. Erdoğan now intends to appeal to the Pope for an appropriate response. The scene presented at the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris once again highlighted the scale of the threat we face. This is what the Turkish president loudly declared during a speech in Ankara. In general, such things should not just be overlooked, in his opinion. But the fact is that Pope Francis has not yet commented on this controversy. Although the Archbishop of Malta, in a letter to the French ambassador in Malta, stated that it was a real insult. But now we observe the intrigue of how Pope Francis will personally react to the Turkish president’s appeal. Erdoğan also refused to go to the Paris Games, although he had wanted to earlier. The reason given is that his granddaughter advised him not to go because the values there would not be ours.
Personal Time of the Minister and Farewell
Well, let’s put aside all this complex stuff for now. There is also an information moment today that only brings a smile, and it’s from Germany. There, the Foreign Minister, the well-known Annalena Baerbock, who, I should note, previously engaged in trampoline jumping, has shown that she has not lost her skills and can still perform wonders on the trampoline. Additionally, for those who don’t know, Annalena Baerbock won bronze at the German Championship in 1999 in the double mini-trampoline discipline, after which she stopped professionally jumping on the trampoline. However, in her office at the Federal Foreign Office, there is a mini-trampoline that she uses from time to time. Besides solving complex issues and tasks, she also periodically jumps to keep in shape. Apparently, she decided to show everyone once again that she can do it and showcased her trampoline skills. Annalena made it clear that no other foreign ministers could do something like this. One might say, “Is it too hard?” but probably none of the leading diplomats could replicate this. Although it’s still worth holding off on making hasty conclusions, so we’ll keep watching. The intrigue remains.
Conclusion
So, these are the news highlights for today, which say a lot. Share your thoughts on what you think about everything happening. I wish you a peaceful sky and inner calm. See you soon!
